Here we are!! Almost £500 worth of watercolours, a few oils and a brush!

When the brush arrived I was fairly unimpressed by the way it looked, but it's turning out to be a glorious brush, lovely long (vegan!) hairs that hold an incredible amount of paint and give a lovely smooth coverage with a confident sweep - It's fast becoming a favourite. I can't tell you how absolutely fantastic it was working my way through the Daniel Smith order...I kept thinking 'they're not going to believe someone is ordering paint to this value in one go' and in fact the order took some time to be ratified...I think they had to be sure I wasn't using a fake voucher! I ordered some of the very most expensive colours such as Diopside Genuine and Kyanite Genuine - colours I wouldn't have dreamt of ordering in the past! I also ordered six expensive oil colours to pzazz- up the oil paintings, I had such a great time ordering, and now they've all arrived and I'm beginning to see what they can do. I was also able to buy a big pack of imperial size Saunders Waterford watercolour paper...the best! A big thank you to all my lovely students for such great retirement present, soooo very much appreciated!

About this site...

I am an art teacher living and working in Dorset.  I have taught for the Adult Education Service and the University of Bath, plus some supply teaching in my local schools but now I run my courses privately. This site is intended as an addition to my teaching, primarily now to showcase the Sunday workshops I run.

All lessons are also available for any one anywhere who would like some ideas on what to teach, what to learn or is just interested in seeing what we do.

I'm afraid I won't be able to answer emails asking for comments on anyone's work (other than for currently enrolled students).

I run Sunday workshops, one every month and a short summer school.. Other than that I spend every available moment in my studio or drawing and painting elsewhere.

I studied for four years at The Slade School of Fine Art where I was awarded The Slade Prize on graduation. I went on to travel and study further finally doing a P.G.C.E at Exeter University with Ted Wragg as my mentor. It was a wonderful year of education which set me in good stead for my years of teaching since then.
